Thank you to all who applied for Gideon. We had more applications than we have ever taken in and it was a tough decision. Those who want to keep their application on file for the summer award may do so. If you haven't gotten a letter yet, you will be getting one explaining what you need to do to have your application stay on file with The Feather Fund. ________________________________________________ The winning applicant came in from Kasey Enright of Eldersburg, MD. Kasey has worked for the past several years as a volunteer with Days End Horse Rescue. She is also a 4-H club member. She borrowed a pony to show last year. Kasey's three and a half page handwritten essay won us over. Her volunteer hours with Day's End Rescue and the work she had done to save money for a foal of her own spoke volumes. She said she had printed Gideon's picture and hung it over her bed! Now Kasey can add to her photo collection as she and Gideon grow together! ________________________________________________ The Feather Fund presented Gideon to Kasey at the Westminster Holiday parade in MD the Saturday after Thanksgiving. She met her pony and then led him (with the other Chincoteague Ponies) in the parade. Gideon, and all the other ponies were very well behaved, enjoying meeting the children at the tree lighting ceremony after the parade. Gideon was delivered to Kasey the next morning.
